I created these to secure my LCD firmly against any flat surface - wood, wall, or whatever suits me best. Right now, I'm using mine as a custom digital gauge cluster in my car, and I've found that printing in ABS with a raft helps prevent warping due to the car's interior temperature fluctuations. If you're keeping it indoors, PLA might be sufficient without a raft.
