I required space both for the large matrix controller that came with my LCD 1602 and also to fit a proper USB port into the side hole. The buttons on the Matrix controller are not accessible once the lid is screwed shut. For me, M2.5 screws worked best. For the back lid, see the original thing. This design was made with Tinkercad.
