LCD 12864 holder on adjustable stand IMPORTANT: Do not over tighten bolts. I've modified the files based on a Front Cover and Back Plate print, these new files are untested but the Front Cover and Back Plate that hold the LCD 12864 should now fit together better. LCD 12864 Adjustable Stand First Full Test Fit. It seems to function well: https://youtu.be/JN-Lvyfj-Jw via @YouTube There is a cut out for easier SD removal. The "lcd_12864_ball_mount.stl" needs printing with the cups facing up and supports turned on. This is to prevent bad plastic inside the cups that need to contact the ball joint. It may be best to print the Ball, (lcd_12864_ball_mount.stl), and Socket, (lcd_12864_ball_holder.stl) parts set to fine, 0.01mm layer height, to make them move smoothly together. There are two knob types: lcd_12864_main_knob_round_shaft.stl (For round shafts, not tested for fit) lcd_12864_main_knob_flat_edged.stl (For shafts with a flat edge) There are also two other knob types similar but have less depth on the turning part, the filename begins with "less". These are here for completeness. Remember there are lots of different knob shaft types. I've made the Back Cover and the Ball joint Mounting, (inside_mounting), so that they can be easily fastened together from the inside of the Back Cover. It was a bit difficult for me to bolt the Ball joint Mount onto the Back Cover because the Ball restricted easy access. Using these; fasten the Ball joint Mounting to the Back Cover from the inside of the Back Cover first then fasten this to the front cover. Remember to add the Reset Button before putting the PCB into the Front cover. These two files are: inside_bolt_mounting_lcd_12864_ball_mount.stl and inside_bolt_mounting_lcd_12864_back_cover.stl There are now two Reset buttons, I found that one, (lcd_12864_reset_button_loose.stl), could move too much if this unit is tipped. This was just annoying if this unit was tipped about making a loose sound, see video. So I made a Reset Button that should move about less, (lcd_12864_reset_button.stl). NOTE: At 20% infill the PCB supports can break if the holes are not pre-drilled. I drill bolt holes out at 2.5mm then screw a bolt in to pre-cut the threads in PLA. IMPORTANT: Do not over tighten bolts. I've created a Back Plate with no holes in, if you want to use without the stand, file: no_back_holes_lcd_12864_back_cover.stl YouTube Playlist, this will show you the iterations: LCD 12864 holder on adjustable stand https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUqt0sTiXUDepbEIl2jWd0YF-dSa3o3a4 How I Designed This TinkerCad TinkerCad used to edit and amend other files from elsewhere, e.g. other files
