The HAL Tejas is an Indian multirole light fighter developed by Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for the air force and navy. It features a tail-less compound delta wing design, enabling high maneuverability, and originated from India's Light Combat Aircraft program launched in the 1980s to replace aging MiG-21 fighters. The LCA was officially named "Tejas," meaning "Radiant" in Sanskrit, in 2003.
