Lazy Susan horizontal spool holder for cake tin drybox
thingiverse
I needed to find an alternative to a large filament drybox, which couldn't fit in my workspace. The smaller dryboxes on the market are flat, so I had to come up with a way to dispense filament while keeping the spool upright.\r\n\r\nTo solve this problem, I repurposed a 6202 bearing that was lying around. Using a 2RS (two rubber seals) type bearing proved effective because the friction provided by the seals prevents the spool from spinning and unraveling.\r\n\r\nI printed both parts of the design and assembled them onto the bearing. The spool can now be rested on top without any issues!\r\n\r\nInitially, I considered adding centring rings to accommodate different sizes of spools, but it turns out that this solution works well as is.\r\n\r\nI'm sharing this design as a thank you to all the designers who have shared their excellent work with me.
