I'm currently using an EEW Mini, but it's not very portable because of its size. To make it more convenient, I wanted to use a Lazy Kate attachment. Although it works okay, I realized that it's too bulky for easy transportation. So, I decided to modify the design by removing the long post and adding a cupped hole that fits a 5/8 inch dowel perfectly - which is the same size as my current knitting needle (size 50) that I use to ply yarn. My printer takes more than two hours to print in draft mode. This is just the first version, known as Flat Top. Future plans include: Version 2: This will have guides and possibly allow for stacking. Version 3: I plan to add a clip underneath to hold the dowel securely. Remember that this is an early prototype, and printer performance can vary greatly. I recommend trying out Brave Mini Kate 23 as a test of the cupped hole design. Comments and suggestions are welcome, but please keep in mind that my modding skills are still developing.
