LongRange did this first, but there were some issues to address, and it was easier to remix the originals to make the improvements. You can find his WIP here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2955378

Changes that were made to this version from his:
1) Corrected the distance between the stock/sight and battery door components so that it fits on an LTAR properly and so that NERF stocks fit properly.
2) Opened up the hole on the top where the screw post goes due to the installation method (battery door end first, and then rotate down onto top of tagger)
3) Notched part of the side walls due to installation method
4) Added 3-notch weaver rails on both sides for accessories
5) Added some structure where holes were present in the print due to geometry. It ain't pretty, but it's on the inside, so shouldn't matter except a little extra material.

You will need one M3-0.5 x10mm (or so) screw. The OEM battery door screw isn't quite long enough for a good connection. The screw can be of varying length, but M3-0.5 fits best that I've tested. I picked up a 3 pack at Home Depot for less than a dollar.

There are two versions:

1) LTAR_Rail_and_Stock_Mount_V4.stl - This requires the removal of the iPhone connection cable to be replaced by a securing bolt. For this version, you will also need a bolt and a couple of nuts to take place of the iPhone cable, which you will need to open up the LTAR and remove. Obviously, don't do this if you think you'll ever use an iPhone with this tagger... but you probably won't and you know it. ;-) Whatever fits is fine. Also note that there are nearby electronics inside the tagger housing where the bolt will go. Be sure to put some electrical tape on the head of the bolt, or on the electronics, or use nylon or other non-conductive hardware.

2) LTAR_Rail_and_Stock_Mount_V4_nobolt.stl - This version simply covers the iPhone cable. It has not been field tested for strength during play. It is believed that the fit of the overall model, coupled with the screw for the battery door, will be reasonably secure. I'll update this if turns out to not be the case.

Print instructions

Category: Toy & Game Accessories
