Laywoo-D3 test
thingiverse
In my initial test, I ordered Laywoo-D23 (3mm) through eBay and received positive results. The wood filament was softer than expected, similar to MDF. Printed at standard PLA settings on an Ultimaker, it produced a fantastic finish with a matte, slightly rough surface. Print lines were invisible at .1 mm layer height. It could be written on using a ballpoint pen and felt like corrugated cardboard with 10% infill. The material oozes more than PLA and has a slight burnt wood smell during printing. First layers of complex prints were challenging to adhere properly to blue tape. Overall, Laywoo-D23 is a great material but not ideal for all projects; it hardens further after a few hours post-printing.
