Layover Trace & Cut Template for Prusa RC2 Covid Face Shield
thingiverse
This is a manual tracing template for those of us who don't have access to a laser cutter but still want to create the clear plastic shield portion of Prusa's "RC2" face shield, which can be seen here: https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/25857-prusa-protective-face-shield-rc2 The RC2 shield design is straightforward enough that you can do it by hand with a marker, scissors, and a hole puncher. This process may take longer than using a laser cutter, but you won't have to worry about edge margins or machine errors, allowing you to produce 50 face shields from one 4'x8' sheet with minimal waste. Since the shield is larger than your print bed, I've split it into quadrants that you can screw together. Included are STL files for each quadrant as well as a STEP file of the entire assembly so you can make any necessary edits. If you decide to create these shields, please join forces with a local group to ensure cleanliness expectations are met and proper procedures are followed, ensuring that the end product will be used effectively rather than ending up in a landfill immediately or causing harm.
