LAYERED WHALE DECORATION

The whale is my new beautiful design piece and makes a great gift idea! I incorporated some improvements due to feedback on my first layered animal design (see LAYERED WOLF DECORATION). It contents of 8 layers à 5mm height, that can be printed without any supports. It is roughly 180x1145x40mm big. The file is designed to add an optional LED strip in the back. The layers can be screwed together with a total amount of 16 screws to be able to unassemble the wolf (main 7 layers), open the whole back (1 back layer) and change batteries (battery cover) with 1 screw. If you do not want to add lights you can also just glue the layers together. For the LED Version you will need the following parts: - 9 Screws (Hex): M2x30 [or alternatively 8 Screws (Hex): M2x30 and 1 Screw (Hex): M2x25] - 7 Screws (Hex): M2x5 - 16 Thread inserts: M2x4x3.2 - LED string light (micro copper wire) with around 20 LEDs or more (we need 10 LEDs in the whale but some extra cannot be bad) Tools you might need: - hex key for the M2x30 and M2x5 screws - sodering iron for the thread inserts - wire clipper (usually comes with your printer) to shorten the LED string lights if necessary - Lighter Tips: - The whale can be painted (I used acrylics) or just used as is. It is a personal preference. On the photos you can see it painted. - The copper LED wire has usually around every LED some kind of hot glue. I warmed it up with a lighter and pulled the endings apart to get them in the 4mm holes of the design (see the pics) - It can be cut to remove LEDs that are not needed. I did not cut it down this time, my strip has 24 LEDs (some are just not used in the holes but needed to bridge the distance between the holes) - you can use hot glue to fixate the wires in the battery area (I did do that) The photos should explain most steps, if you have questions feel free to ask.
