Layer Height Comparator Visual Tool
thingiverse
I was struggling to visualize the layer height during setup of my prints, so I designed this little sample holder. Each sphere has a diameter of 25mm and text that clearly shows the layer height. I chose a sphere because it helps showcase the quality of the print at every angle over the build plate, as well as the top layer transition layers. If not already clear, I printed each sphere separately at the following layer heights: 0.3mm 0.25mm 0.2mm 0.15mm 0.1mm 0.07mm 0.05mm The sample holder was printed with a 0.1mm layer height. Once printed, the spheres can be pressed firmly into the sample holder. By carefully flexing the holder, the spheres are easily inserted. Using a plastic jawed clamp made it very easy to do so.
