Laves Candy Bowl
thingiverse
This heart-shaped candy bowl sits on top of a matrix of separate but intertwined chiral channels of the Laves Graph. According to Wikipedia: “An object or a system is chiral if it is distinguishable from its mirror image; that is, it cannot be superimposed onto it.” Different but complimentary. Maybe you and your loved one are chiral? The channels are approximately 2mm in diameter, which is as small as you’d want to go with a 0.8 mm nozzle. The example in the picture above is printed with a 0.8mm nozzle, and up close you can see a few imperfections. If you like this size, I suggest using a smaller nozzle. If you want to use a 0.8mm nozzle, I suggested scaling up a bit. Check out my design page for more pieces made from the Laves graph.
