myminifactory
Laurence Sterne was a celebrated author of humorous novels who lived in Yorkshire's Coxwolds from 1713 until his death in 1768. His witty writings, including the famous 'Tristram Shandy' published in 1759 and 'A Sentimental Journey', which appeared eight years later, featured explicit language and mocked prominent public figures. This notoriety earned Sterne both fame and criticism within literary circles. A striking marble bust of him was created by Joseph Nollekens in 1766.
