Launch Button

Launch Button

thingiverse

It's a compact button designed for Raspberry Pi shutdown and reboot, similar to a rocket launch button. I use it in this setup: https://youtu.be/Sorz_R3qYB8 https://youtu.be/5vO_z-kapwE My goal was to create a protective enclosure around the small button, which is actually just a standard 6x6mm button, probably the most commonly used size. I couldn't find any existing solutions that fit my needs, so I designed one myself. You can download the .scad file and modify it if you'd like, or use an alternative solution from https://github.com/sanja-byelkin/LaunchButton The small size of this button makes it a bit tricky to insert into its slot inside the case without damaging something. To avoid any issues, I recommend soldering all wires before pushing the button into place. For Raspberry Pi setup instructions, check out this link: https://www.stderr.nl/Blog/Hardware/RaspberryPi/PowerButton.html To connect the button, simply attach it between GND and GPIO3 on your Raspberry Pi, then add the following line to /boot/config.txt: dtoverlay=gpio-shutdown,gpio_pin=3 I attached my button using double-sided tape directly onto the Raspberry Pi case.
