Lattice Cube 3D Printer Torture Test (Overhangs and Dual-Extrusion)
thingiverse
Can your printer handle this?\nBased on Makers Muse Lattice Cubes design, this is similar thing - a lattice cube base. The super lattice cube is two cubes rotated together, making everything look complicated. The Ultra has three cubes, and unsymmetric has two, but not rotated symmetrically. That one was accident, but I'll keep it up because why not?\nThis is great test for overhangs, temperatures, cooling, and retraction.\nSee Makers Muse on YouTube! He's the guy who inspired this idea, and you should definitely check his channel out: https://www.youtube.com/user/TheMakersMuse\nBecause I used AutoCAD on laptop to make this, it isn't perfect. I'm not even sure it's a perfect cube, lol.\nBut anyway, this thing will put your printer to test, so make sure to watch the print so it doesn't fail!\nEDIT: 10-28: Added dual-extruder version. I don't have dual-extruder printer, so if there's something wrong, let me know!\nEDIT: 7-18-17: Added super cube with no base. Someone wanted it, even though I think it won't work without a bunch of support material. Maybe if it was split in the middle and glued together, it could work without supports, but you'd need some seriously good bed adhesion to do that.\nEDIT: 7-19-17: Added no-base versions of all lattice cubes, except dual-extruder version.\nHighFive\nPrint Settings\nRafts:\nDoesn't Matter\nSupports:\nNo\nNotes:\n0.2mm layer height works well, but any lower and you risk failing like I did. Basically, overhangs curl up a bit, and if you have really small layer height, your extruder will run into that curling in more severe way than if it were 0.2mm layer height.\nHow I Designed This\nI used AutoCAD 2016 on laptop...\nTook about 30 minutes to make it, but about 2 hours trying to get software to work in first place -_-
