This control pod add-on is designed specifically for Southbend engine lathes that utilize a Cutler Hammer 3-phase motor reversing drum switch. It seamlessly integrates into the existing setup, allowing users to access enhanced functionality when running their lathe's motor with a Variable Frequency Drive instead of traditional rotary phase converters or standard three-phase A/C power. The unit is strategically positioned between the original Cutler Hammer switch and its mounting post on the lathe, providing a compact enclosure for essential components. These include a potentiometer, E-stop switch, and jog toggle, which are secured in place through standardized 1/2" holes for the pot and toggle, as well as 22mm holes for the E-stop. The lid of this control pod is designed to be securely fastened with 2mmx6 to 8mm machine screws.
