Lathe Tool Milling Jig
grabcad
I highly respect the craftsmanship that goes into manually grinding lathe tool geometry, but I prefer a more efficient approach to avoid a potentially hazardous aluminum oxide shower. To achieve this, I position the tool in a vice on a single axis parallel to the compound angle of the machine, allowing me to precisely mill the required geometry. This technique can also be applied to create insert holders with ease. The tool itself is 3D printed from high-quality 17-4 Stainless Steel for added durability and performance.
