Use a center finder tool to accurately position your lathe tool at dead center. Position the bearing and scrap rod correctly with this homemade center finder: use a bearing with a 1.125 outside diameter, along with some spare metal (matching your bearing's inside diameter) and a low-cost spirit level. This device ensures that your lathe tool aligns precisely with your work piece. Follow these steps: These instructions were printed using a first-generation Printr Bot. The settings were: IC3D 3mm ABS filament, 100C heated bed, 220C extrusion temperature, .2mm layer thickness and 80% infill density without support. The center of the bearing's hole was about .01 inches smaller than expected, requiring slight sanding for a precise fit. Similarly, the bubble level bore needed to be made about .01 inches larger than normal for a perfect fit.
