My friend broke the original handwheel for his SIP wood lathe and was distressed to discover from SIP that the part was unavailable. 3d printer to the rescue... I took measurements from the original wheel and made modifications to the shape to improve printability, largely to remove the need for supports (because they're difficult to remove from a print in PETG!). A small support is still needed for the hex nut rebate in the handwheel for the fixing bolt for the handle. I wrangled this with the new paint-on support feature in PrusaSlicer 2.3. There are two versions of the wheel, one that needs an insert ring from the original wheel (HandWheelInsert.stl) (read on in Post-printing about a problem with this...), and one that just fits on the tailstock shaft and fastens with a M5 x 12mm grub screw (HandWheelNoInsert.stl) (this version should work but is untested, having been drawn after discovery and solving of the insert ring and it's problem) This handwheel will probably fit other brands of wood lathe that are similar in design to the SIP (for example Draper 60990 (WTL1100) or 63938 (WTL95), Scheppach DMS1100 or DMS900 or Lata 5.0). The No Insert version could be drilled out to suit larger tailstock spindles.
