Lathe Spindle Spider for 9x20 Lathe

This lathe spindle spider fits small lathes with a rear spindle thread of M27x1.5. This includes many 9x20 inch lathe models. This is a modification of my 7x10 lathe design - resized to fit my 9x20 lathe. AssemblyThere are 8 holes that need to be tapped M6x1.0 (the equivalent length ¼"X20 screws should work as well). Related to this - I have found that IPA (isopropyl alcohol) makes a good tapping fluid for plastic, and does not leave a messy residue. I used 6x12mm screws to lock onto the spindle, and 6x25mm screws for holding the work-piece. The large end fits over the spindle nuts. You may need to bore the ID out slightly to get a smooth fit, but this was not necessary for me.How to UseFit the large end over the spindle nuts, and then screw it onto the threads on the end of the spindle. Tight the four screws on the large end to lock it onto the spindle. I found I only needed the screws to be finger-tight. It may be that fewer screws (or no screws at all) would work just as well, but I did not test this.To use with work pieces extending through the spindle hole, unscrew the screws on the small end enough to allow the work piece to fit through. Clamp the working end in the lathe chuck as you normally would, and then adjust the four screws to hold the extended end centered in the spindle (see photo). Print InstructionsPrint in PETG using the 3mf or gcode files provided.
