Lathe Spindle Adapter This customizable OpenSCAD model lets users design a spindle adapter that holds a nut, or cut sections of material and glue them together with CNC/laser cutting tools. The goal is to create a project that can be cut into multiple sections and assembled. Construction pictures are coming soon. Export the module to STL, then use DXF Extrusion to generate files for cutting with projection. projection(cut=false) import("/PATH/TO/STL/file.stl"); v3 - animation added to fulladapter module v2 - The diameter of the spindle adapter has been extended around the nut to include through bolts. This prevents wood or material from shearing on the lathe. The module with nutsurround has been removed. The full adapter preview has been fixed. v1 - I don't recommend using this version because there needs to be more surface area around the nut, as well as adding support for bolts to add strength. Variable Explanations: spindle = diameter of the spindle chuck = diameter of the adapter nutsurround = amount of material surrounding the nut nutsize = distance from the longest point to the outside of the nut (see picture below) nutthick = thickness of the nut materialthick = thickness of material to be cut into centerbolt = diameter of center hole mountholenum = number of mounting holes mountholedia = mounting hole diameter res = resolution of circles How to Measure the Nut
