Lathe Lamp Holder Jig

Lathe Lamp Holder Jig

This design works seamlessly with a Grizzly G0462 Lathe and utilizes a desk lamp, specifically this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N9SLBXK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. A 4" x 12" (100mm x 300mm) piece of wood is used in the model, although on the lathe itself it's likely closer to 10x3. Any size will suffice. The bolts are intentionally oversized for easy tightening and printing purposes. The Washer could be sourced elsewhere, but my setup takes around 30 minutes to print. Most hardware from the lamp is incorporated, except the included stabilizer, which I found flimsy. This design replaces it with a more robust version. All parts are printed in PLA at 30% infill (give or take). Exact settings will be posted on thingiverse when the models become available. The Lower Bracket component is particularly useful, modeled directly off the similar piece included with the lathe. It's strong enough to use with my toolrest without flexing or failing, even printed in PLA at 35% infill. For direct download as STLs, the Fusion files include the Lower Bracket and Lamp Stablizer; these are likely to be used in another context. **Note:** I originally printed the bolt with layers perpendicular to its length, which is not strong enough. I recommend printing the bolt with layers parallel to its length for added strength.
