Lathe for Dremel

UPDATE: I am calling it quits on this project as I never quite completed it and my plate is too full with other things, so there won't be any more updates in the foreseeable future. I'm leaving the project up just in case anyone was working on it, or wants to see what I was doing. READ BELOW IMPORTANT INFO (including post printing) I built a lathe for a Dremel tool that's adjustable. WARNING! I haven't finished printing all the parts yet, so I can't guarantee that this project will work. However, I've printed most of the main part and everything is working flawlessly thus far. I should have the project fully completed soon, at which point I'll update this page with more info. One side has a threaded attachment for your Dremel tool, the other has press-fit pockets for two 608 bearings (one on each side). 3D printed bolts are intended to screw into holes above slides to lock the rig in desired position. Two feet on each end of the rig are intended to be screwed or clamped to a workbench. Maximum usable extension is 185mm (7.28 in), could be more if you disconnect slides and use mounting feet to secure to work surface. I included the .123dx file if you want to mess around with it. Just ask that you give credit where it's due! Thanks! If anyone tries printing this, I'd love to hear about it. The screw threads for the Dremel are taken from "drill bit sharpener" by mgx - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1024834 UPDATES: 2.1 6 July, 2016 -Moves the screw on the tool jig from the top to the bottom 2.0 5 July, 2016 -I've almost finished printing the Lathe and so far everything is working flawlessly -Includes updates to most of the part files -Adds a tool support jig with removable insert -Adds max extension markings on the lathe slides -Improved tolerances -Revised mounting system for wood 1.1 -Replaces a few of the pieces with updated versions -Added cutouts to reduce amount of filament needed. Should still be plenty strong. Print Settings Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: Mini Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: .2 Infill: 40 Notes: Supports need for most of the part. I'll be uploading specific print setting for each part very soon! Post-Printing The Lathe-dremelsidetop and Lathe-dremelsidebottom have alignment notches and should fit snuggly together. However, you will need to glue the two sides together, being careful not to get excess glue in the slide channels. The Lathe slide has cut outs for two 608 bearings. Once I've finished printing all the parts, I'll upload a video on how to assemble the Lathe.
