Lathe center height finder
thingiverse
This tool sets the height of your lathe's tool, all while keeping the work securely in place within the chuck - a real time-saver when you need to swap out tools mid-project. Simply wrap the supplied rope around any cylindrical workpiece between 10 and 100mm in diameter and lock it into place using the wedge on top. To calibrate your tool, use the setscrew to make adjustments until it's perfectly aligned. Once calibrated, consult the built-in spirit level to find the precise center height. This tool is designed specifically for a standard 10x35mm spirit level vial and requires only an M3x10mm socket head screw and a length of 4mm rope. I scored a bargain by purchasing a cheap plastic spirit level that came with three vials for just $3! To print this design, simply orient it upside down on your build platform. Don't worry about additional support - the tiny built-in support next to the vial will do the trick. Just be sure to trim off any excess material afterwards.
