This significant Late Archaic discovery was unearthed at the Anderson Earthworks in Ross County, Ohio. Dr. Jarrod Burks of Ohio Valley Archaeology, Inc. identified this feature through a thorough magnetometer survey. A soil core probing a magnetic anomaly, labeled Anomaly 3, revealed small black holes that were indicative of cultural significance. Upon excavation, it was discovered that one half of the feature had been uncovered to a depth of 10 cm. The excavated area yielded only Fire Cracked Rock and charcoal.
