Latches for the Acrylic Panels Lulzbot Mini Enclosure
thingiverse
These clips hold acrylic panels as part of a simple yet secure easily removable enclosure system designed specifically for 3D printers. They were originally used in enclosures for the Lulzbot Mini and also had a variant created for the Makerbot Replicator. These are meant to be cut from 5mm thick acrylic but could also be made with materials up to 1/4 inch or 3D printed. A better version of this clip is now available on Thingiverse: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1044852 We recommend using the improved printable version when printing these clips, which you can adjust the slots for the mating panels according to different thicknesses. The slots need adjustment based on thickness so be careful with how thin you go, as anything less than 5mm is not suitable as they require some weight to support the panel's force and avoid cracking. This also helps in ensuring a secure installation. These lower clips (the longer ones) are designed to slide up the panels during installation and are then held firmly in place by gravity. They work well only in vertical orientation, meaning this system is ideal for printing machines that stand upright. This design was made with the Lulzbot Mini Acrylic panel profiles in mind; you can check out more information on those here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:994992 http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:756211 and http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:756173 If interested, an all-inclusive kit of laser cut panels and 3D printed parts to fully enclose the Lulzbot Mini can be purchased on Drazzticaction's website: http://drazzticaction.com/products-page-2/3dprinters/lulzbot-acrylic-enclosure/ Sincerely,
