Latch for foldable wooden baby/kid/pet gate
thingiverse
I've found that a sturdy base plate is essential in holding the foldable/retractable wooden child/baby/kid/pet gate securely in its contracted/folded state. Without it, the gate tends to flop around, stretch, and get played with, eventually breaking faster. Two versions of this design are included: one that uses screws for attachment and another that relies on glue. I've found the screw version to be the most reliable, as the double-sided tape can be quite weak. Rest assured, I'm well aware of the safety benefits of this gate, particularly when it comes to preventing fingers from getting stuck due to its foldable design. The files for Tinkercad are included, where I designed and created this gate.
