Latch

A door latch with a slider is created by printing the slide insert and slide guide vertically to maximize strength. The large plate, although not necessary, was required in my case to fill the gap between the door's height and the frame's height. To make the latch stronger, print it with 100% infill. 16 June 2019 Update After installing the latch on the door, I noticed a potential issue: when slammed shut, the latch might slide into a locked position due to its smooth sliding mechanism. To prevent this, I added a magnet and an extra screw to the latch. Now, no matter how hard the door is swung, it stays in the open position. To implement this fix, use a 8mm x 3mm round magnet, specifically the N35 Strong Round Disc Rare Earth Neodymium Magnets available on Ebay for around $2.5. A 3.5cm long 3.0 screw should be placed in the middle hole to secure the latch firmly in place.
