The Mount Pleasant Cemetery is an old cemetery located in Sioux Falls, SD (http://www.mtpleasantsf.com), a place where one can find numerous monuments and stones of various sizes, shapes, and styles to use as references. Among the many monuments here, I recently discovered one erected to honor a toddler who passed away just short of turning two years old. This tragic monument serves as a painful reminder of the excessively high child mortality rate prevalent during the 19th and early 20th centuries.
