This is a bracket for mounting a 20x20x1 furnace filter to a common Lasko box fan. This model can be printed in little time and material compared to other models. In order to install these brackets you will need a drill, 1/8" bit, pencil or small marker, center punch, combination square, a hand riveter, and 1/8" diameter rivets that are long enough to go through these 1/8" brackets and through the steel of the fan. Bracket hole spacing is 1/2" on center. Short sheet metal screws might be usable but I'm not sure. You could remove one of the guards and nut and bolt it but I can't guarantee they won't come loose and go flying. I used a cheap $5 Harbor Freight rivet gun that worked perfectly. If I ever break one I can just cut the rivet off and pop on a new bracket. I centered my bracket over the center screws of the rear guard. It's important to use a combination square to keep the bracket square with the frame or it will look bad. These brackets look like they are factory standard parts. Word of warning that the sheet metal twists during manufacturing so the brackets are going to sit at the same angle as the sides of the fan. Nothing you can do about it. As long as the filter doesn't fall off then it's working fine. Mine work great. It is worth pointing out that this does get ride of the gap that other models cause between the fan and filter but you may get a 1/2" gap between the sides of the bracket and the filter. I will probably just keep an eye out for some packaging foam to slip between but so far the filter never falls out or I might just print out some simple blocks and super glue to each bracket to take up the gap and it will stay perfectly centered. They work great though. Print these with the side with the holes flat on the bed and the other part sticking up. FreeCAD source is included if you would like to customize it to your needs.
