Lasersaur Laser alignment tool (take 2)
thingiverse
This is take two of a laser alignment tool, designed to make the process of aligning Lasersaur mirrors significantly easier. This tool mounts to the front of the nozzle, just like its predecessor. It leverages a basic Quartet brand laser pointer from Petco and a piece of cut-to-size mirrored plastic sourced from AutoZone for approximately $9. You will need to trim the mirror and attach it with double-sided tape. You might need to employ some masking tape to secure the tool in place due to printing and nozzle tolerance discrepancies. Once the fit is accurate, simply insert the laser pointer into the barrel until the button remains pressed. Mount the device on the nozzle and turn on the laser light; rotating the tool will ensure that the beam line remains centered and doesn't create a circular path. If it does trace out a circle, apply another piece of double-sided tape to one end of the mirror to shim it and realign the laser with the tube's axis. Continue adjusting until the device stops tracing out a circle and the laser line stabilizes in place.
