Lasercut Leather Tie
thingiverse
We're showcasing the endless possibilities of Trotec lasers by crafting a tie from scratch using the Trotec Speedy 500. Materials Needed: • 2 yards x 1 yard black polyvinyl leather • Scissors • Tape • Ruler • Pen (or any item that can mark the underside of the material) Designing This Tie Step 1: Create a Tie Design You can design your own tie outline, or use ours as a base. The red outline should be hairline thickness for cutting and black fill for engraving. Step 2: Cut Out Dimensions Measure and cut out the tie size from the material. Our tie was 28 by 48 inches. Vinyl is a preferred material due to its bright colors and durability. Cutting and Engraving Tape down the material securely. We used the Speedy 500 CO2 80w laser because of its large bed. Set the speed to 100 and power to 1000ppi for engraving, and speed 2 with 20 power at 1000hz for cutting. Now you can walk in style with your brand new tie.
