I crafted a knitting needle case using Adobe Illustrator and intend to incorporate pre-drilled holes, eliminating the need for punching them out myself. Unfortunately, I've been struggling to achieve this feat so far. A detailed write-up of the project can be found at https://makershare.com/projects/nicer-knitting-needle-case. The process involves cutting the design in leather using a lasercutter, punching holes and then sewing it together. I have both AI and SVG files available for use. Feel free to customize the pockets as you see fit, enlarging or shrinking the overall design to suit your needs. When cutting out the lines, make sure to set the point size to 0.01 pt.
