I caught sight of a picture of one of these contraptions and was immediately inspired to give making my own a try. I decided to create a cube approximately 90mm by 90mm, but it's easy to adapt the design to make a bigger or smaller cube. Laser-cut from c. 3mm ply board (designed for 2.7mm thick ply as that was the average thickness of the stock I used) and glued together with precision. Cut out six sets of the plans, then glue each set together to form one side. To assemble it correctly, glue three sides with the peg facing outward and three with the peg facing inward - just like in the photo. Finally, glue all six sides together seamlessly.
