Crafting a Laser-Cut Masterpiece: The Art of Shaping Sound. Using precision cutting tools to shape the intricate design of a guitar is an art form that requires patience and skill. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to create this beautiful instrument. Step 1: Prepare the Pickguard The pickguard is the first piece to be cut, and it serves as the foundation for the entire guitar. For this project, we'll use 2.5mm MDF material. Step 2-6: Cut Out the Body Panels Now that the pickguard is in place, it's time to move on to cutting out the body panels of the guitar. We'll need four main panels and two additional pieces for the neck and headstock. These will be cut from 5.5mm MDF material. Note: The numbers (2.5mm and 5.5mm) refer to the thickness of the material used in each step.
