Lasercut Display Stand
thingiverse
People who like simple display stands will appreciate these small object displays that are incredibly easy to assemble by tying a string or ribbon through the two holes in the back. Every package comes with not one but two display stand sizes, a 4-inch stand and a 2-inch stand, allowing you to customize it to any size you desire. However, we urge users to avoid using these for delicate or valuable items. Note: We used Adobe Illustrator to draw this simple design from scratch by making a rectangle then carefully manipulating anchor points until we had an acceptable shape that felt balanced. We also duplicated the rectangle and flipped its orientation in order to get the same design but mirrored on both sides. To get a professional-grade cut out, every line was made into vectors by setting them all to 0.003 point thicknesses inside AI so that our Epilog laser cutter could accurately slice through the acrylic without burning it. The colors we added were simply there for visibility and did not affect the actual cutting process. To optimize for our specific material (1/8" thick acrylic), we set up our Epilog 50 watt machine to do a pure vector cut at 15% speed, 100% power, and 5000 frequency Hz
