Lasercut Calliper Business Card

<p>This is an acrylic laser business card that assembles into a functional set of acrylic metric/imperial callipers, with a vernier scale accurate down to 1/20th of a mm***.&nbsp;</p><p>This file still needs some polish, but is fully functional. I was hoping to work on it a little longer before releasing it, but came across <a href="https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:782">http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:782</a> the other day, and figured it was about time to stop trolling and register :)</p><p>Please excuse the temporary cameraphone snaps, the good camera is at a cottage for a few more days :)</p><p>UPDATE</p><p>Caliper.006 - cut files set to work with a VLS 3.60 60W</p><p>Caliper.007 - cut files adjusted to slightly looser on the friction fit.</p><p>*** depends on the accuracy of your laser cutter ;)</p><h3>Instructions</h3><p>I've included the .las settings file (Universal 60w Laser), but the cut order is basically:</p><p>black - deep raster etch</p><p>red - vector cut</p><p>green - very light vector etch</p><p>yellow - very deep vector etch (breakaway tabs)</p><p>blue - vector cut</p><p>magenta - vector cut</p><p>cyan - light raster etch</p><p>Current slots are made to work with 1/16th" clear acrylic, I've also etched these out of watercolour paper to hand out. They looked neat, but still took forever to etch a full run.</p><p>I'd suggest flipping the files, and back etching the cards as they look a little slicker.</p><p>After the cards are cut, they should just break apart and get friction slotted together.
