LaserCube Lens Storage

LaserCube Lens Storage

A while ago I modelled a case to hold the lenses that came with my LaserCubes, to be printed on regular FDM/FFF 3D-printers. The LaserCube pack I bought contained 8 different lenses, and I wanted the case to be compact, and reflect upon the design of the cubes themselves. The design is in two parts, bottom box and a snap-on hinged lid. It is optimised to print in one go, without need for support material. I made it with very small tolerances as my printer is fine-tuned and very exact. If you got a wobbly printer, increase the size to 103% or so to fit the lenses easily. As the design has not gone through any extensive testing, improvements are surely possible. The snap-on lid can be a bit hard to fit in place and be prone to breaking if you print it with less sturdy material. I printed mine in CPE/PET-G and had no issues, just I can see this happening with a material with lower layer adhesion. It is modeled in Tinkercad, and I am making the file available there too (search for "LaserCube Lens Storage), if someone wants to have a go at it themselves. Otherwise, I will take suggestions on changes and sort it when I find the time.
