Laser Vent 4" Duct Adapter for K40

Laser Vent 4" Duct Adapter for K40

thingiverse

This is a simple adapter that fits snugly into the mounting brackets on the back of a budget-friendly K40 laser cutter so you can attach a 4" dryer duct easily. To ensure a tight fit, cut a piece of 1/16" (1.5mm) craft foam to act as a gasket and attach it to the flat part of the adapter. I've printed and tested this one, and it fits perfectly with a notch cut out to clear the screw heads above and below the exhaust vent. This Thing has been updated with three new files. V2 features a 2.5mm thinner base for better screw clearance, and I've split it into two pieces - pA and pB - for smaller printers or reduced warping and support material. A new update adds an upwards-facing version of the duct as a full unit or split to avoid supports, but keep in mind that it requires a large bed, so you may need to split it yourself to print it on an 8-inch (200-mm) bed. To do if requested: Reduce the length of the duct connection space to save time and material, though it currently works just fine. Print Settings: Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: TAZ 5 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.25mm Infill: 30% Notes: Printed with ABS, but PETG should work as well since it needs to withstand the laser exhaust temperature. How I Designed This: Parametrically designed in Fusion 360.
