Introducing a simple DIY line laser scanner setup, perfect for those experimenting with laser scanning. To build this device, gather the necessary plastic or wooden parts including the Laser Scanner Frame, Gearmotor Lift Cam, and more. You'll also need a low ratio gear motor, line laser, laser mount, self-tapping screws, bolts, nuts, and washers. Follow these steps to assemble your device: attach the line laser to the laser mount; add the moving part of the frame to the laser/mount assembly using M5 bolts and washers; fit the motor to the static part of the frame, ensuring the output protrudes; secure the cam to the motor/gearbox output shaft; fit the static frame section to your chosen mount; and finally, join both frame sections with an M8 bolt. Adjust as needed and enjoy your new DIY line laser scanner.
