Laser Rotary Attachment

Here are some additional notes about the Rim-Drive Rotary Attachment for engraving cylinder items with your laser. This attachment is specifically designed to work well with wine bottles, glasses, and mugs, all of which can be easily adjusted in terms of length and height. The motor used in this setup is a NEMA 17 0.9 degree stepper motor that provides a hardware resolution of 0.1mm per step. However, the stepper driver on my laser machine is set to x8 (Microstep), which increases the resulting maximum resolution to 0.0125mm per step. To achieve this high level of precision, I used a 2GT pulley with 16 teeth made of aluminum that rides over a gear with 50 teeth, cut from acrylic using my laser. The belt itself is 280mm long and 6mm wide, providing plenty of room for smooth motion. This design was uploaded on December 20th, 2018, as version ver04.02. At the time, I noticed that there were some differences between the layers, so I edited and re-uploaded a corrected version to ensure optimal performance.
