Laser Quick Release Plate
thingiverse
This is my version of the quick release plate for popular laser engravers. My changes: 1. Deeper so socket cap head screws can be used without bolts interfering 2. Bottom is solid, preventing quick release plates from dropping out of holders 3. Laser side of the mount has more flat surface area for unusual bolt patterns on modules 4. Added horizontal slot to the laser side mount for mounting modules with a horizontal pattern (max 15mm), accommodating smaller heatsinks This design also makes it possible to adapt for pens, drag knives, and other creative uses. My original purpose was to address points one and two, but since I started from scratch, I added extra features. I intentionally made it a tight fit. Depending on your printer, you may need to file the angle down slightly if you prefer a looser fit. For me, this locks into place very nicely and requires a bit of a tug to pull back out. With something mounted to it, this isn't difficult at all and I suspect it will wear in over time. I preferred that to seeing any vibration in my engravings. Let me know what you think!
