Laser projector iPhone tripod mount
thingiverse
A portable movie theater fits neatly in your pocket. I acquired this Microvison laser projector from Woot years ago but rarely used it. To make it more useful, I designed a custom bracket to hold the 30pin iPhone that drives it on a tripod mount. Print Settings Printer: Monoprice Mini Select Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: Layer height: 0.1 Shell thickness: 0.8 Infill: 20% Notes: Printed in PLA, with a print temperature of 200°. How I Designed This Designed in OpenSCAD, where I took precise measurements with digital calipers and built it up from scratch. To avoid zero-width faces, I used a fudge factor when differencing polyhedron. The space for the tripod nut was initially too tight, but applying firm pressure with a hot soldering iron allowed me to press it in place. However, it fell out again, so a small amount of superglue holds the nut firmly in position. Although the projector appears dim in this photo, it's actually quite visible in a darkened room. I based my design on http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:40703.
