Laser pointer rotary switch

To prevent accidental activation of an inexpensive laser pointer, a simple upgrade can be added to make it more difficult to turn on inadvertently. Instead of pressing a single button, users must now flip a switch to activate the laser. This feature not only reduces the likelihood of accidental activation but also allows users to leave the device turned on without constantly holding down the button. The specific laser pointer I designed this upgrade for has a round casing measuring 23mm in diameter and a round button approximately 5.5mm in diameter. This is a generic Chinese green laser pointer that operates using an 18650 lithium cell, a common power source for many compact devices.
