Laser pointer mount for a 40cm Dobson telescope
thingiverse
This is a precision laser pointer mount for my 40cm Dobson telescope, featuring a ball joint that enables rapid and effortless alignment. The laser pointer can be easily installed or removed at any time. With a properly sized nylon cable tie, you can convert the push switch into a toggle switch that allows leaving the pointer on while aiming the beam and then turning it off with a simple twist (as shown in the video). To assemble the mount, the ball joint and holder base must be securely bonded together. The ball joint case bottom and telescope bed also need to be carefully glued together, ensuring proper alignment so that the screws that press the ball do not interfere with the telescope tube. I have already attached the 40cm telescope bed to the telescope tube. Additionally, I have designed 30cm and 20cm telescope beds for users who require a mount that fits their specific telescope diameter.
