This adapter enables you to attach a laser sight to your Celestron Nexstar 6SE telescope. Using a GoTo scope requires finding alignment stars during setup. In my initial use, I'm still unsure about the utility of this finder due to parallax issues that affect accuracy. To make a final determination, I'll need to conduct several more sessions. I'm not convinced it's accurate enough for star placement in the eyepiece view, possibly due to a strong moon that may have impacted my results. Seeing exactly where your scope is pointing in the sky is very useful. One thing I've never liked about GoTo scopes is how they make finding objects incredibly easy but disconnect me from the night sky, making it difficult for me to understand object locations. Having a laser show you where the scope is pointing allows me to better comprehend and connect with the night sky. This adapter screws onto existing mounting holes and has been designed to mount a Pinty hunting rifle green laser sight. I recommend using the momentary switch that comes with the sight as it's much safer than the switch that can leave it on when unattended. There are likely other accessories that could be mounted to the same Weaver style rail.
