I pick up these small laser modules on Ebay, they're budget-friendly, costing around 10 for a dollar if you hunt down deals and are willing to wait a month or two. Alternatively, you can grab 10 for 5 bucks and get them in just a few days. These lasers operate at 5vdc. They measure 5.9mm in diameter and feature a flat little protrusion at the back where wires are soldered on, measuring 6.2mm wide. Overall length including this protrusion is 13mm. I modified a GoPro mount to work with these tiny laser modules. My plan is to produce 6 to 10 of these and incorporate them into my Christmas lights display this year. I'll place three or four opposite each other, flashing back and forth like a mini laser show at a concert. The GoPro mount and the laser head holder are situated on a shared 0.5mm brim for effortless printing. You'll need an 8-32X3/4 screw and an 8-32 nut to complete this project. I printed these in PLA with 0.2 layer thickness and 100% infill. Discovery: These compact lasers aren't bright enough to achieve the desired effect unless I also create a fog machine. The mounts fit nicely, but don't get your hopes up for an impressive laser light show.
