Laser measurer Holder
thingiverse
I bought a generic Laser Measurer off eBay.. It has been very good and accurate 'if' you use a suitable reflective surface to beam too.. What I missed about this and many other cheaper ones is a method of measuring from the outside of a corner.. ie' the length of a piece of timber to the end or a wall.. see photos. Yes you can guess that the base of the measurer is in line with the edge you are measuring from but i don't want to guess. The more expensive laser measurers.. Leica Disto have a built in flap that you can pull out and use so they are a practical addition. So I designed a case to put the measurer in and just place the thing against a 90 degree corner. The design of it is to ensure that the base of the laser is on the same plane as the flat plate touching the wall or other object (essential for accuracy) I also designed in to it, a block beneath the device (see arrowed photo) .. this helps to keep the device a little further away from the surface and make it easier for the beam to hit its target Ps.. you can use the device in the holder, as you normally would, as well but just add the thickness of the base to any readings.. (exactly 2mm) I find it easier to hold as the device's base is not very stable on its own. I hope this is of use to someone. My laser device dimensions are 27 x 54 x 118mm - the void in the front of this print is large enough to operate all functions/buttons of the laser device
