I crafted this clamp to simplify transporting the spars - including the upper and lower masts, as well as the boom - for my Vanguard Laser Sailboat, with the hope that other dinghy sailors may also find it helpful. The plan involves printing two pairs of these clamps and attaching them towards the end of the spars. Then, tie all three together into a single unit to secure on top of your car or truck. Each pair requires two hitch pins - often referred to as Hair Pin Clips - measuring 5/32 by 2-15/16-Inch in size. These can be sourced from Amazon for approximately $3.00 per pack of seven. The lower mast has a diameter of 2.5 inches, while the upper mast and boom each have a diameter of two inches.
