I created unique leather wallets as a gift, choosing genuine leather to prevent exposure to harsh fumes from burning materials. This project showcases the art of customizing pre-made leather items with precision-cutting techniques using a laser cutter. Before starting, I highly recommend testing on a small section to guarantee that the laser won't damage the entire wallet, which happened to me initially. Experimenting with different settings can also help achieve varied shades of gray, such as one for the blue and another for the red in the US flag design. In this particular project, each pixel corresponds to one millimeter.
